Sea and Shore attended the recent IASST International meeting in Romania. Pictured is the group in the presendential palace where we received very interesting presentations from both the IMO representative and also from local emergency services providers.

Basic Safety Training Week

This week long event will cover the following STCW Modules:

Personal Survival Techniques (PST)

Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR)

Elementary First Aid

Security Awareness

Basic Fire Fighting

These are the basic training courses required before going on board any vessel regardless of role.

Stcw Update Requirements

The Danish Maritime Authority advises that if you have one or more certificates that will expire on 31 December 2016, they must be replaced with so-called 2010 certificates already now.

Elementary First Aid Training

The Elementary First Aid training is a course that is intended for all seafarers who need to be able to practice elementary first aid onboard ship. It comprises the knowledge required in the STCW Convention Table A-VI/1-3 and provides an introduction to the principles of first aid. It demonstrates how to respond to the most common medical emergencies.

It will enable participants to take immediate actions upon encountering an accident or other medical emergency.

The course can be delivered at our base or at our clients preferred location.

On successful completion of this training course a certificate will be issued with the authority of the Irish Department of Transport. Participants may want to progress in Medical First Aid (MFA).
